The 3.5L PowerBoost full hybrid V6. The 7.2 kW version of Pro Power Onboard comes with this powertrain.
Pro Power Onboard puts household outlets in the bed of the truck. On non-hybrid F-150s it runs 2.0 kW or 2.4 kW depending on configuration, which is enough for tools and chargers. With the 3.5L PowerBoost full hybrid it steps up to 7.2 kW, and that is a different category of thing entirely.
Be clear about what 7.2 kW is and is not. It is not a whole-home standby generator wired through a transfer switch, and it will not carry central air conditioning. It will comfortably run a refrigerator, a chest freezer, lights, a space heater, a router and the phones for everyone in the house, off a truck already parked outside. For a family whose sponsor may not be home when the storm arrives, that is a meaningful piece of equipment rather than a brochure feature.
It is also the answer to a much more common problem than storms. Somebody in the neighborhood is always trying to run a compressor or a miter saw somewhere without an outlet, and this truck ends that conversation.
